Drought strikes Gaza province
No rain, water or food. So will half of Gaza province's districts. There are now 71,000 people who are being affected by drought since April this year, according to the latest survey conducted by the National Institute of Disaster Management (INGC) in that province. The natural phenomenon affects six of the 12 districts of the province in particular Chicualacuala, Massangena, Mabalane, Massingir, Guijá and Chigubo. Amid the drama, hunger is the first consequence. It is that in all affected districts, located in the northern part of the province, most of the population lives from agriculture and livestock production, but due to lack of rain the two activities no longer contribute to their subsistence.
