Mozambique receives historical archives from Portugal

It is the portrait of six years of colonial rule, which coincided with World War II. It is hundreds of official photos, financial reports and official correspondence between the Governor-General of Mozambique, between 1940 and 1946, José Tristan Bettencourt, and many bodies of the colonial administration in Lisbon, especially the Ministry of the Colonies. The material remained for years at the hands of relatives of the then Governor-General of overseas province of Mozambique and historical research institutions in Portugal, and was offered yesterday, to the Historical Archives of Mozambique. The initiative is the Mario Soares Foundation and aims to increase the data on the country's possession about the history of the colonial period.
