The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi arrived this Thursday to New York, in the United States where he will attend the 70th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), which will also mark the celebration of 70 years of creation of that organization, the end of the implementation period of the 15 Millennium Development Challenges (MDGs) and the adoption of the new Sustainable Development Agenda that will come into force over the next 15 years. In New York, Filipe Nyusi should display the Mozambique report on achieving the MDGs (which is not yet available for press). However and according to Albertina McDonald, National Director of International Organizations and Conferences of the Ministry Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mozambique is among the countries that could meet some of the major objectives adopted in 2000.
