WHAT AFONSOS DHLAKAMA'S WITHDRAWAL FROM THE PUBLIC AND MEDIA MAY MEAN.

Afonso Dhlakama's absence from public and media

space, since last Friday (25),

after the fatal attack on the

National Road Number Six

(EN6) in Zimpinga in Gondola district, Manica province,

follows one supposedly of moving

artillery to Gorongosa by the

Defence and Security Forces

(FDS), similar to what

happened between 2013 and 2014, with the clashes that

ended with the signing of the

Termination of the

Armed Hostilities Agreement, which was

practically thrown into the garbage bin because of dissatisfaction of one of the

parties, Renamo.

Gradually a gaining

consistency is the information

that the Government is

very concerned about

the "disappearance" of the

leader of "Partridge" and for this to be considered a threat

to the longed-for peace - not

just a political buzzword - is

preparing for possible

military incursion that may come from Dhlakama, from Sathungira,

where he is, according to

what has been said,

especially in Sofala and

military ranks.

Another fact, still on Dhlakama,

indicates that he was wounded

in the lower limbs during that

ambush; however, António

Muchanga, spokesman for this

political formation, says their leader is "is well and in good

health," but does not say in

which specific place is. On the

health of the leader of

"Partridge" many things were being said during the last military

conflict which officially ended

in September 2014.During that period he was even given as dead.

After the assault on the

Renamo base in October 2013,

led by Filipe Nyusi that at that time defense minister,

Dhlakama plunged into Mount Gorongosa, and that place was plunged into intense daily and

deadly battles. The populations

of the communities living

around prepared to escape

until one day they actually left their

homes. Actual human and material damage of this

tragedy are unknown to this

day. At the speed at which things

are, as a result of lack of

understanding between the

government and Renamo, puts Mozambique on the verge

of another war.

The political and military

tension that persists in the

country is a reflection of the

that the problems between Renamo

and the Government

are far from being resolved. In fact, on September 5, 2014,

when the former President of

the Republic, Armando

Guebuza and Dhlakama signed

a peace agreement in Maputo,

after several "datings" failed, it was clear that the agreement

did not necessarily put an end

to violence, but yes, opened

the way for the holding of

general elections that were

already scheduled for 15 October of the same year. As

well as fears, there were many

warnings that if the Dhlakama did not succeed in

the process it would trigger a new war.

The "future of hope, between

brothers," if each assume

"their responsibilities and

commitments are respected

day-to-day through words and acts"

that Dhlakama spoke that day before the hugs and

handshakes with Guebuza,

seem to smudge up. Arrogance

and weapons tend to speak

louder than words and / or

dialogue

"Today is a very important day

for our people, who waited

patiently, knowing that the

solutions of our problems went

through dialogue", Guebuza

said, but actually all this, today, is nothing but a lie to the

climate of uncertainty facing the

country.

Meanwhile, the driver of the

minibus shot dead in EN6 in an

attack attributed to the Renamo party by the government

and its military forces, was

called Carlos Quipiço Guihole, father of a former Mozambican

international athlete identified

by the name of Argentina's

da Gloria, now rooted in Italy,

according to the Diario de

Mozambique.
